Choosing A Path: Church Or Independent Board Programs |
When starting a Released Time program, there are two models that you may follow: the Church Model or the Independent Board Model. Each model provides its own set of
advantages.
When planning your program it is important to tackle this tough decision early in the planning stages. |

Doing Homework:
It's Not Just For The Students |
Before your program can begin, you have to be prepared to get approval from the School Board and principal. Remember it is your privilege to present this idea to school leaders, so take
time to do your homework for a professional, persuasive presentation.
Presentations should cover the history and explanation of Released Time so those officials become sufficiently educated on the program. Officials should also become aware of Legal Issues
very early in the process.
Most importantly, your presentation should highlight the many benefits of Released Time. School Ministries has sponsored research projects from the National Council on
Crime and Delinquency and the Commission on Children at Risk that will assist you in presenting the case for a Released Time program in your area. |

Running The Program: Prepare For A Marathon, Not A Sprint |
Once you have gained approval for your program, it is time to prepare to run your program. The first step of running a program is making sure that your program is added to the
School Ministries Mailing List.
Your program can also become a member of School Ministries and gain a wealth of experience and help. Running a successful program is a long, but rewarding process, and it is
important that you not go through the process alone.
School Ministries is here to help you, God is watching over you, and the children are benefiting from you. |
